Marie Armenta

Marie B. Armenta, a Los Angeles, California native, holds an MS in Information Technology from Aspen University and a BA in Business Administration from American International University. She enlisted in the Marine Corps in August 1998, completing Aviation Supply School in Meridian, MS.

Throughout her military career, Ms. Armenta received numerous commendations, including a Certificate of Commendation, a Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation, a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, three Good Conduct Medals, a Selected Marine Corps Reserve Medal, and a Global War on Terrorism Service Medal. She initially left the Marine Corps in August 2002 but rejoined as a reservist in July 2008. Currently serving as a Gunnery Sergeant at the Marine Innovation Unit, she works as a Staffing Officer for the Advanced Capabilities Branch and is set to retire this year after 22 years of service.

With 17 years of experience as a Civilian/Contractor for the Department of Defense, Ms. Armenta has held roles as a System Administrator and an Information Systems Security Officer/Manager. Her civilian career has earned her several accolades, including a Special Achievement Award, Senior Honor Civilian of the Quarter, a Unit Award, and an Exemplary Achievement Award. She has worked in various capacities within Information Technology, specializing in software and hardware, auditing information systems, conducting inspections, and managing projects. In December 2024, she was granted 100% Permanent and Total (P&T) disability status.
