Jason Baney

Jason enlisted in the United States Navy as a Cryptologic Communications Technician (CTO) in 1997 and rose to the rank of Chief Petty Officer before being commissioned as a Cryptologic Warfare Officer in 2009. Throughout his distinguished career, he served onboard four ships, and he also accumulated over 1,300 flight hours onboard the EP-3E Aries II reconnaissance aircraft. He retired in 2019 after almost 22 years of service and decided to settle in San Antonio, Texas.

Following his passion to mentor and elevate people, he worked at Western Governors University (WGU) as a graduate student mentor for three years, helping close to 100 men and women earn a master’s degree. Jason started to focus on his mental health, and he decided to resign from WGU. He saw the importance of mental health and redirected his passion and energy to serve our veteran population. He realizes how hard it is to navigate the VA system when one is not both mentally and/or physically well. He joined our team because he cares about our veterans and the sacrifices they made.
