Abel Herrera

Abel Herrera is a proud Gulf War veteran who served in the United States Marine Corps from 1989 to 1993. Following his military service, he built a successful career spanning more than 32 years in Information Technology while remaining committed to serving fellow veterans.

Like many veterans, Abel experienced the challenges and frustrations of navigating the VA disability claims process. After submitting his first claim more than three decades ago and overcoming multiple denials, he dedicated himself to learning VA regulations, understanding the claims process, and advocating for himself. His persistence ultimately resulted in a 100% Permanent and Total disability rating.

That journey inspired Abel to become a Veteran Coach with Just4Veterans, where he is passionate about educating veterans on the VA disability claims process. He is committed to guiding veterans as they better understand potential service-connected disabilities, organize supporting evidence, and approach the process with greater confidence. Abel believes every veteran deserves the knowledge needed to make informed decisions about the benefits they have earned through their service.

Abel’s philosophy is simple: educate veterans—not by making promises or guaranteeing outcomes, but by offering honest guidance, practical knowledge, and encouragement throughout their journey.

Originally from Beeville, Texas, Abel now resides in Corpus Christi, Texas, with his wife. He is the proud grandfather of five grandchildren and enjoys spending quality time with his family, making lasting memories with his grandchildren, and giving back to those who served.
