Coach Matt Smith

Matt was born and raised in a small town in Kansas. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where he served for 8 years as a multi-channel equipment operator specializing in communications. During his military career, Matt deployed twice to Iraq in support of Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom (OEF/OIF 1 and 2).On his first deployment, he was attached to a British unit in Southern Iraq, where he provided critical internet and phone capabilities as part of the coalition effort. During his second deployment, he supported Regimental Combat Team 1 (RCT-1) in Fallujah, delivering secure communications services in a high-demand operational environment.

Following his military service, Matt returned to Kansas and built an 11-year career in executive protection and private security. Throughout his professional journey, he has developed strong skills in teamwork, leadership, and client-focused service, with a deep commitment to supporting both colleagues and those he protects.

Matt is married and has three daughters, two of whom are married, while his youngest is currently in high school. In 2024, he welcomed his first granddaughter. He currently resides in Kansas with his wife.

In his free time, Matt enjoys riding his motorcycle and values the camaraderie of the motorcycle community. He and his wife also enjoy traveling, meeting new people, and seeking new experiences. Matt is an avid sports fan, especially when it comes to attending live events. A self-described thrill seeker, he places a high value on making lasting memories with family and friends.
