Matt was born and raised in Stratford, Connecticut. Immediately after high school, he answered the call to serve his country by joining the United States Marine Corps. Over the course of 14 years, he took on diverse and demanding roles, including Light Anti-Aircraft Missile Operator, Marine Security Guard, and Recruiter. Seeking new challenges and opportunities to lead, he transitioned into the United States Army, where he continued his distinguished military career.
After 28 years of dedicated service, Matt retired at the rank of Command Sergeant Major, having built a legacy of leadership, resilience, and unwavering commitment to his fellow service members. Soon after retirement, he completed his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Management.
Upon retirement, Matt was awarded a 100% Permanent and Total disability rating. Having personally navigated the complex VA claims process, he understands the frustrations and challenges that many veterans face when seeking the benefits they rightfully deserve. This experience fueled his passion for helping others, and he now dedicates his time to guiding fellow veterans through the process, ensuring they receive the support and compensation they have earned through their service.
Matt now lives in Washington State and has three daughters, who are the center of his world. When he is not helping veterans, he enjoys spending quality time with his kids, coaching youth sports, and embracing the great outdoors. An avid hunter and fisherman, he finds peace and fulfillment in nature, passing down his love for the outdoors to his daughters.
