Richard joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 2003 and retired after 21 years of service in 2024. Upon completing the claims process, he was awarded 100% P&T. He started his career as a supply clerk, working his way to the rank of first sergeant. He completed three tours in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and two tours on Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island.
