Ruben was born, raised, and currently resides in the great state of Texas. A graduate of Texas A&M University, he earned a commission as a United States Marine Corps officer in 1993. Attaining the MOS of 1802 Tank Officer, he served for 24 years.

Upon retiring from the Marine Corps at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in 2017, Ruben received an initial disability rating of 80%. After being referred to Just4Veterans by a fellow Marine, he submitted a claim that resulted in an upgrade to 100% P&T.

Impressed with the J4V’s strategy and their support of veterans to navigate the complicated VA claims process, Ruben referenced many other veterans to do the same. He would ultimately join the Just4Veterans team to personally coach other veterans on attaining the disability benefits that they deserve.
